Tikuli art is an 800-year-old traditional craft from Patna, Bihar, patronized by the Mughals. It involves intricate hand-painting on hardboard or MDF, historically rooted in making glass-based bindis. Traditionally made by melting glass, it is now primarily crafted on MDF boards, which are painted, coated with enamel (4–5 layers), and sanded for a durable, heatproof, and waterproof finish. Designs are characterized by fine, meticulous lines, often using a black background with contrasting, vibrant colors like white and gold to create detailed scenes. Common subjects include scenes from Hindu mythology (Krishna Leela), rural life, festivals, and weddings
