In Bihari weddings, Bhakhara sindoor, also known as orange sindoor, holds a special significance, symbolizing the longevity of the husband's life and representing purity, auspiciousness, and the divine bond between husband and wife. It's a tradition where married women in Bihar apply this orange-colored vermillion, often made with turmeric, lime, and mercury sulphide, along their hair parting. It is also available in pink colour.
