Ghicha or Gicha is a silk yarn obtain from the cocoon filaments. The by-product of Tussar silk is usually Ghicha silk. The Ghicha silk threads are natural and give a natural texture and an outstanding sensational weaving. The silk fabric in Ghicha is rough but surprisingly soft to the touch and yet the lustrous silk.Ghicha silk sarees are made by hand-spinning the silk yarn, dyeing it with natural dyes, and weaving it on a traditional handloom. The hand-weaving process can result in slight irregularities in the weave. Ghicha silk should be dry-cleaned for the first wash. After that, it can be water polished or soft polished.
Dry cleaning is the safest method.
If handwashing, use cold water and a mild, protein-based detergent, avoid wringing, and air-dry the saree flat in the shade.
For ironing, use a low-heat setting with a protective cotton cloth.
Store the saree in a breathable cotton bag in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
